Playground Rules of Conduct

Important rules we kindly ask you to have in mind while visiting our play cafe:

1.  This is an unsupervised play area. Parents and guardians need to supervise their children at all times. For your child’s safety, you must remain in the play area or near to the seating tables while your child is playing. We recommend no more than 3 children per adult/caregiver.

2.  Rainbow Play Café’s employees and owner are not responsible for supervising or overseeing children at the playground. Parents and guardians use the playground at their own risk.

3.  Please take your child to the washroom with you in case you need to use it.

4.  For everybody’s safety, all children and adults must wear socks inside the play area. We kindly ask you to remove your and your kid’s shoes prior entering the playground. Please use our cubies to leave your shoes/boots and coats there. Rainbow Play Café’s owner and employees assume no responsibility for loss of personal items.

5.  No rough playing, hot drinks, gum or food allowed inside the playground at any time. Absolutely no outside food is permitted in the café’s premises.

6.  Strollers are not allowed in the play area and must be parked outside the shop.

7.  There is a 120-minute play time limit per paid admission during week days and 120 minutes time limit during weekends and holidays. If you wish to remain playing, please proceed to the cashier to pay for any extra hour(s) you need. There is no grace period after the paid time limit has been reached.

8. We have limited capacity and limited seats at our cafe. Any extra adult NOT COVERED by a child admission (i.e. second parent, granparents,  extended family or friends) must cover their own admission.

Thank you.

9. Appropriate behavior and language is always expected by everyone at all times. Rainbow Play Cafe reserves the right to ask anyone to immediately leave the premises who is not following the rules, without a refund.

10.  Absolutely no birthday party celebrations must be taken place inside our premises when booking for our regular admission. NO outside food allowed other than water, milk, and baby formula.

Parents & Caregivers Indoor Playground Etiquette

Practicing proper playground etiquette is a crucial skill for all of our visitors

1. Practice Good Behaviour & Tolerance

We have a Zero Tolerance Policie to Unruly or Agressive Behaviour at our play cafe. Any unruly behavior, bullying or disrespect for others’ playtime will NOT be tolerated at our play cafe. If a disagreement between parents arise, the offending person(s) will be asked to leave if correction is not immediately taken. Aggressive or abusive behavior includes language (whether verbal or written) that may cause staff or other customers to feel afraid, threatened or abused and may include threats, personal verbal abuse, derogatory remarks and rudeness.

2. Watch Your Language

Be kind to other families and children when at the playground. Make sure to watch your tone and words to set a good example for your children and other people around you.

The use of swear words in written or verbal communication will not be tolerated and these communications will not be responded to. Swearing at members of staff,  remarks of a racial or discriminatory nature and unsubstantiated allegations will not be tolerated.

3. Respect Other People’s Property

When playing with toys or other items at the playground, it’s important to remember not to take something that doesn’t belong to you. Make sure your children understand this concept and respect the property of others, so everyone has an enjoyable experience when visiting the playground.

4. Take Turns

When playing with toys or equipment at our playground, taking turns is key! Explain to your children that not everyone can be using the same thing at once, and emphasize the importance of waiting their turn if someone else is already using something they want to play with.

5. No Rough Play

Although it’s fun for children to let loose and run around on the playground, parents need to remind their children that roughhousing is not allowed in a public indoor playground like this one. Make sure your kids understand that the equipment is meant for fun and not fighting.

6. No Bullying

Bullying can ruin a good time for everyone, and parents need to make sure their children know it’s unacceptable behavior. Explain to them that no one should be made to feel uncomfortable or scared while playing, and let them know they should tell you if they ever see someone being mean to another kid while they’re out on the playground.

7. Stay Away From Off-limits Areas

It’s important to keep children of areas off-limits at the playground—such as the coffee bar area and behind the counter—so that they don’t get injured while playing. Make sure your kids know what parts of the playground are safe for them to explore and which ones should be avoided.

Thank you.
